Thor: Ragnarok First Official Trailer Explodes Online

Thor: Ragnarok is here in its first official trailer.

And it looks as though the God of Thunder is in trouble.

After the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, it looks as though Thor’s life has taken a little turn for the worst. He’s no longer in Asgard, his famed hammer Mjolnir has been destroyed, and he’s crash-landed on a hostile, gladiatorial planet that’s keen to pit him against some of its finest warriors.

Oh and one of those warriors is The Hulk.

But can Thor get back home before The Ragnarok?

It certainly looks as though he’s got his work cut out for him, as Hela, the Goddess of Death turns up at the gates of Asgard… and she’s clearly looking for trouble.

“Asgard is dead,” she says rather ominously.

And without Thor to defend it, it looks as though Asgard has quite a fight on its hands.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“In Marvel Studios’ ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!”

Taika Waititi directed the movie based on a script by Eric Pearson.

Thor: Ragnarok heads to cinemas on 27 October 2017.
