Roger Moore Visits Star Wars VII Ice Planet

Will Star Wars VII return to Hoth?

It looks as though another familiar planet may return in ‘Star Wars VII’ as Sir Roger Moore reveals a mysterious ice planet at Pinewood Studios.

In an interview with Graham Norton, the 86-year-old James Bond star revealed that he’s already visited the set of the upcoming ‘Star Wars‘ sequel… and his description of a certain ice planet sounds awfully familiar.

“The day before last, I know we stopped by the office, and I went up to see – on a very closed, secret set – my friend J. J. Abrams, who is directing Star Wars,” he said. “With Harrison Ford.”

“They were filming something with a lot of mountains and snow,” he added. “But I’m assigned to secrecy.”

Of course, ‘Star Wars’ fans might be tempted to jump to conclusions – after all, we’ve already visited the icy world of Hoth during ‘The Empire Strikes Back’. But will ‘Star Wars VII’ head back to Echo Base?

Earlier reports from Badass Digest suggested numerous rumoured plot elements… and while they mention a visit to a mysterious icy planet, they also suggested that it may not be the one we all know and love.

“Meanwhile, on an ice planet, nefarious forces are building a super weapon, one capable of destroying not planets but entire solar systems … In many ways this plot of Episode VII is an echo of A New Hope. Instead of R2 coming to Tatooine it’s a hand falling from the sky, but the basic sweep of the story is similar, and intentionally so. But things that seem familiar may not be as familiar as you think – don’t assume that every ice or desert planet in the galaxy has already been visited, if you know what I’m saying.”

Will the icy planet of Hoth feature in ‘Star Wars VII’? It certainly sounds like a possibility… but for now, we’ll have to wait and see.

Do you think ‘Star Wars VII’ will return to Hoth? Would another ice planet prove a bit too confusing? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
